In my ongoing exploration about energy and materials, I spoke with Kasper Moth-Poulsen of the Kasper Moth-Poulsen Research Group on Molecular Solar Thermal Energy Storage. Basically, and maybe not so basic!, but basically he and his team invented a molecular battery that can store energy for up to 20 years. Given that we need to understand innovations around energy and materials, I found this conversation to be fascinating given that the work is at the molecular level, not the atomic level...seems like there is much to be done at the molecular level that can be very symbiotic with natural processes yet still give us the ability to build an advanced civilization. Here is the conversation in full. Enjoy!
